We’ve all lost things in our lives. Socks go missing (hello, washing machine and dryer!). Technology gets misplaced (even if you just left it in another room). We forget plug-ins when we use hotel rooms and leave behind items when we visit others. But sometimes the things that go missing have bigger consequences. Say, for example, you have a single key to your car and you can’t find it. That can be close to tragic.
Before you think that the world is coming to an end, know that if you got somewhere in your car, it’s likely that the key to that car is somewhere close by. The first thing to do is to retrace your steps. Go back to the car and think very carefully about what you did and where you went. Is it possible that you left the key in the car? Check the windows and peek inside if the car isn’t locked. What else can you do? This graphic helps.
